Introduction to Network Science with Networkx

January 30 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

People, places, computers, web-pages, and our brain are all examples of networks. Network science helps us represent, analyze, and understand the hidden properties that those complex systems exhibit from a viewpoint of interaction and connection.
This workshop introduces the basic elements of networks (graph theory) and their applications. It will also cover the fundamental principles and algorithms used to understand the structural properties and dynamics of networks. Finally, the workshop will introduce the audience to real-world network analysis through Python and Networkx.

Speaker Bio

Hend Alrasheed is an assistant professor at the Department of Information Technology, King Saud University. Her research focuses on analyzing structural properties of complex networks. Problems she investigates lie at the intersection of graph theory and network science. Her research interests also include software engineering measurements. Specifically, problems related to modeling software programs as flow graphs and analyzing their properties.
